How bad it is

The International Energy Agency now expects the first fall since 1945 in global electricity use.

This is a serious global recession.

Does this mean its a deeper recession, though, or that firms/households are becoming energy-efficient?

  It probably is. But I would rather we helped the environment through switching to greener technology than through simply not producing things.
  
  I’d welcome this if it wasn’t assocaited with crashing production and prosperity.
