Duncan’s Economic Blog

I’m back

Posted in Uncategorized by duncanseconomicblog on July 9, 2010

Did I miss much?

As some people may have noticed this blog essentially vanished in December last year. Sorry about that.

All posts (and comments) are now back up.

By way of explanation – I took a job as a Research Officer with the Labour Party in January and spent an interesting five months working in the Policy and Research Division in Victoria Street in the run up to the election. I then went to the Acting Leader’s office as economic advisor and did that from mid May until today.

I’m no longer a fund manager nor, from today, am I working for the Party. Instead I’m off to work, starting Monday, at an international trade union confederation, although still based in London.

Normal posting will swiftly be resumed.

excellent – you’ve been sorely missed!

which union group, if it’s not impolite to ask?

Not impolite at all! International Transport Workers’ Federation.

Blimey, as I recall the ITWF are loaded – but all their officers, the senior ones at least, are constantly traveling between continents. So I look forward to lots of posts from airport lounges.

I always thought you were too interesting to waste your life as a fund manager. It’s good to have you back.
